Pedophile Rock Star to Keep Royalties

Paedophile rock star Ian Watkins will continue to rake in thousands of pounds in performance royalties even as he spends years behind bars.

Pedophile rock star Ian Watkins will continue to rake in thousands of pounds in performance royalties even as he spends years behind bars.

The depraved former Lostprophets frontman could pocket an estimated £100,000 in royalty cash generated since he was arrested and charged last year.

After Watkins is jailed at Cardiff Crown Court, south Wales, on Wednesday, a continued stream of cash for past work will ensure he remains a wealthy man.

His notoriety and renewed publicity when he is sentenced could even cause a cash generation spike as music sales and internet searches rise.

The 36-year-old, from Pontypridd, admitted two counts of attempted rape on the baby of one female fan on the eve of a trial in Cardiff last month.

Watkins also admitted conspiracy to rape the baby of another female fan, sexually touching a one-year-old and possessing and making child porn.

He also plotted sex abuse with the mothers of the babies in a series of text and internet messages. Both women, who cannot be named, will be sentenced with him.

Revelations surrounding his secret life of planned child abuse and debauchery have continued to emerge since his admission in court.

A former girlfriend has spoken publicly about the number of times she reported Watkins to the police after being horrified by his vile suggestions.

Another woman has spoken out claiming Watkins wanted to have a baby with her that he planned to sexually abuse.

Disgust at the depths of his depravity has seen him transformed from celebrated rock star to being universally reviled.

As his artistic activities continue to be broadcast around the world, however, royalty payments collected by the Performing Rights Society (PRS) and others will keep flowing in.

Music lawyer Craig Brookes explained that as the band’s lyricist Watkins will be in line for a big cut of any fees generated.

“The biggest income stream will almost certainly be publishing which, even if radio play has stopped, will still be pretty big,” he told Wales on Sunday.

“This is because PRS and their equivalents in different countries allocate money on a spot-check basis.

“So you’re going to get money for plays in gyms and hairdressers and on juke boxes and all that stuff.

“They will say, ‘This is how much music is in the market place so it is likely you are due this amount.’

“He will also get a publishing cut for any play Lostprophets have anywhere.”

Fans around the world continue to play Lostprophets music and video footage of the band remains popular on internet sites such as YouTube.

Sadly, the case and Watkins’s notoriety could also be generating a substantial pick up in album sales for the band he fronted.

“The records could be earning a substantial amount. It could easily have translated to 100,000 or 200,000 extra sales,” Mr Brookes said.

“It could be over £100,000 easily. It could be less, but there will be another spike when he gets sentenced, in terms of money generated – because of clips when the story breaks, then there will be a spike in online activity.

“And there are going to be PRS payments because the music is out there.”

More Than 1,400 Victims of Earl Bradley Notified of Settlement Payouts

GAN SEX ABUSE SETTLEMENT 112012

Former pediatrician Earl Bradley, shown Dec. 18, 2009, in police custody, is now serving 14 life sentences for child rape.

Cris Barrish

WILMINGTON, Del. — More than 1,400 victims of former Delaware pediatrician Earl B. Bradley have been sent letters detailing the amount of money they will receive from a $122 million settlement from a class-action lawsuit against Beebe Medical Center, the Medical Society of Delaware and a handful of doctors.

Bruce L. Hudson, a Wilmington, Del., attorney who represented about 150 former patients of the Lewes, Del., doctor who filmed himself raping about 100 children, including babies, and abused hundreds of others, said victims and their families will finally learn how much they will be compensated.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Hudson said of the case, which began with 17 victims suing in March 2010, a few months after Bradley was charged with multiple counts of rape. “They are finding out for the first time that they are going to be awarded money and how much.”

Beebe, which once employed Bradley and cleared him of wrongdoing involving his medical treatment of young girls, was accused along with other defendants of knowing he posed a threat but failing to report him to authorities.

Besides the allegations that occurred while he was employed at Beebe in the mid-1990s, Bradley abused patients at an office in Milford, Del., and also at his Disney-themed BayBees Pediatrics from the late 1990s until his December 2009 arrest.

The settlement money, from which attorney fees are being deducted, is roughly $112 million from Beebe’s insurance carriers, $7 million from Beebe and $3 million from the Medical Society and other defendants.

Hudson said 1,402 patients filed claims, and all will get some compensation. Victims, almost all of whom are still minors, have been divided into five different categories depending on the degree of abuse a mediator determines they suffered, and all victims in that category will get the same award.

The exact amounts of the awards for those in each category have not been made public. But a source familiar with the case said those in the highest category, entitled, “Clear and Convincing Evidence of Intercourse,” will get roughly $400,000 to $500,000.

Those in the lowest category, “Child Was Likely Not Abused,” will get a nominal fee of about $1,000 to $2,500. The source was not certain of the exact amounts for each category, but wanted to stress that no victim is getting anywhere near $1 million.

“Of the hundreds of victims, not all were injured equally,” Hudson told The (Wilmington, Del.) News Journal last year when the parties were negotiating the settlement. “Some are horrendously scarred. Others have more minor cases. There won’t be an equal distribution but there is going to be an equitable distribution.”

Victims and their families have until the end of the year to appeal their classification and once those appeals are finalized, attorneys said they expect to distribute the money early in 2014.

The handful of adults who filed claims will receive the money, but awards for minors will be overseen by Chancery Court and guardians assigned to each child. Families wishing to make withdrawals for expenses for health, education or other reasons must get permission from the court, Hudson said.

Bradley, who was convicted in August 2011 of raping or abusing 86 patients whose attacks he videotaped, was sentenced to 14 life terms plus 164 years in prison.

He often used promises of toys or candy or ice cream to convince parents to let him take their children to others parts of his office, which were equipped with video cameras, where he would rape or molest babies and toddlers. The average age of his victims was 3, prosecutors said.

The mother of one victim who was 7 when she said she watched Bradley inappropriately penetrate her during a 1999 exam and screamed at him said she has not yet received her award but is satisfied the case is finally being resolved.

The woman, whose daughter is 21, said she expects her daughter to be in one of the top two categories and receive a six-figure settlement.

“It’s been 14 years and it will be a good thing to able to close this chapter and not talk about it again,” said the woman, who is not being identified in keeping with The News Journal‘s policy not to identify victims of sexual abuse.

The money will help pay educational expenses for the daughter, who is in college and considering graduate school and perhaps a down payment on a home. “She won’t have to start at the bottom like most kids do when they get out of school,” the mother said.

In the lawsuits, patients accused Beebe of negligence and dereliction of duty. Hospital officials investigated Bradley in 1996 after a nurse reported inappropriate vaginal exams — specifically that he catheterized many of the girls he examined.

The lawsuits contended Beebe could have prevented future attacks by Bradley if the staff had reported him to Delaware’s medical disciplinary board, which licenses and disciplines physicians.

Lewes attorney Chase T. Brockstedt, whose office represents more than 100 victims, said he will help clients with any appropriate appeals and educate them about their awards.

“We were happy to get the letters out and start the process,” said Brockstedt. “That process will continue to be finalized and I think next year is a realistic date for payments to be made.”

Officials: Released Pedophile “Will Test the Waters as Soon as he Can”

James Cooper raped and tortured children. Now he’s back on the street

The Hamilton man once considered Canada’s worst pedophile — he raped, beat and tortured six children — has been released from prison even though experts agree he has not changed.

Susan Clairmont

The Hamilton man once considered Canada’s worst pedophile — he raped, beat and tortured six children — has been released from prison even though experts agree he has not changed.

James Cooper moved into a Brantford halfway house Thursday, a short drive from two of his victims.

“You are a low-down, mean, despicable, evil manifestation of a human being that preys on little children,” Justice Nick Borkovich said in 1993 when he handed Cooper a 30-year sentence. At the time, it was the harshest punishment meted out to a child molester in this country.

The Parole Board of Canada (PBC) granted Cooper statutory release last month and notified at least one victim where Cooper would be living.

Cooper is 78 now, but PBC records show his age, and the sex drive reducing medication he takes, have done little to lessen the danger he poses.

“Despite his advanced age, Mr. Cooper is still focused on sexually related matters,” according to a clinician’s report.

He is considered a “moderate high risk” to re-offend, according to records, and a psychological assessment concludes he has traits associated with a psychopathic personality.

In evaluating Cooper’s progress, one clinician says: “Very simply, he just does not get it.”

The PBC itself writes: “When in the community you have returned to inappropriate sexual behavior indicating that you were unable to apply concepts and skills presented in programming.” And “your difficulty in complying with special conditions indicate that you are either unwilling or unable to abide by expectations and therefore the board has little confidence in your ability to do so on this release.”

“The board concludes that you have the potential to be a danger to others in the community.”

Yet, Cooper is out.

His record includes: five counts of gross indecency, three of indecent assault on a female, rape, sexual intercourse on a female under age 14, two counts assault cause bodily harm, buggery and sexual assault.

Five of the children Cooper molested were his own. The other was a neighbor. Five girls, one boy. Ages ranged from seven to 14 and the abuse took place over 16 years.

“You used such items as a cattle prod, buggy whip, a cow halter, cat-o-nine tails, belts and sticks as weapons of physical abuse,” the PBC report says.

All are adults now, struggling to deal with the damage Cooper did. I chronicled their lives in a long investigative piece called Pure Evil, published in 2012.

Cooper was released from prison before, in 2008, but breached his conditions in Peterborough by allegedly groping a woman, shopping for a sex toy for his female AA sponsor and sending an obscene email to a member of his support circle. He was sent back to prison in 2012.

“He will test the waters as soon as he can,” says a relative of two victims who live in Hamilton.

Cooper is on a condition to stay away from his victims, but in the past reached out to one anyway.

He is also on a condition to not be alone with “female children under the age of 18.” I called the PBC to ask why just female children, when his convictions include the rape of his son. The PBC said it could not discuss a specific offender’s conditions.

Other conditions include abstaining from alcohol because it makes him less sexually inhibited. He is also to take medication he is prescribed and have psychiatric treatment.

He is to report all relationships with females and tell his parole officer if those women have parental responsibility for children.

Elsewhere in the documents it is mentioned Cooper has a girlfriend. She lives with someone who cares for children.

Man Accused in Live Streaming Incest Case

By RYAN OLSON

SACRAMENTO — A Paradise man who was working for Butte County Superior Court has been arrested on federal child pornography charges.

Bret Allan Nichols, 29, made an initial appearance in federal court Tuesday on three counts, including producing child pornography, possessing it, and receiving and distributing it, according to online records for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.

Magistrate Judge Carolyn K. Delaney set a Dec. 17 preliminary hearing.

According to the criminal complaint submitted by federal special agent Randy Richardson, the defendant allegedly watched, directed and recorded several live online video sex chats involving pre-pubescent girls.

The complaint also included Richardson’s affidavit outlining the probable cause to seek an arrest warrant.

A Nov. 14 search of Nichols’ computer at his Buschmann Road residence reportedly uncovered videos involving those girls. There were also videos where the defendant allegedly used a concealed camera to capture images up women’s skirts at the Butte County Superior Court and several stores in the Butte County area, including Walmart.

The report indicates Nichols told investigators he worked at the courthouse. Court salary records posted by MercuryNews.com show he was employed as an office assistant in 2009, the most recent year available.

The investigation cited in the complaint centered on incidents involving a Florida mother and daughter. Officials estimated the girl was 4 or 5 years old in a video posted in November 2012.

Danish National Police discovered the video and referred it to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in December 2012.

Investigation into the video led to officers contacting the mother on Dec. 19, 2012, in Mary Esther, Fla. east of Pensacola. She said she modeled on a webcam modeling site where at least four individuals requested she perform sex acts with children.

Further investigation showed Nichols allegedly used an email address “naughtybad42@gmail.com,” created under an alias in October 2011, to make payments to the women’s online payment accounts.

The woman reportedly told agents that person with the online names “naughtybad42” and “moogle.phin” would make payments of up to $200 to watch her and her husband have sex with their daughter.

Nichols, a 2003 graduate of Paradise High School, reportedly lived at his mother’s residence on Buschmann Road. Investigation and election records indicate the defendant’s mother is Donna Nichols, a longtime member of the Paradise Unified School District board of trustees.

Online payment records reportedly showed the “naughtybad42” account was allegedly created by the defendant on Oct. 30, 2011, and referred to the Buschmann Road residence.

In March 2013, Comcast Cable Communications indicated the Internet address allegedly used by Nichols was connected to an account belonging to Donna Nichols.

While the defendant appeared to reside in Paradise, a Butte County District Attorney’s Office investigator told the federal agent that Nichols was also known to live with his girlfriend in Marysville.

Agent Richardson interviewed the defendant at the time of the search. After waiving his Miranda right to remain silent, Richardson said Nichols indicated he recognized the Florida woman and her child, but didn’t recognize any other alleged minor victims.

The defendant reportedly said the woman offered “live incest shows,” which he didn’t ask for. He allegedly requested the woman and the daughter to play and bathe together and perform oral sex on each other, the report says.

Nichols confirmed participating in several online chats with the mother while the alleged sexual molestation took place, according to the complaint. He also reportedly acknowledged making payments to the woman.

The defendant told agents he recorded four to six videos involving the mother and daughter, and converted them into different formats, the complaint says. He also allegedly recorded sex shows involving a minor child in the Philippines and another in Columbia.

When asked, Nichols reportedly said there were about 50 additional videos involving child pornography, some downloaded through an online network designed for anonymity.

In the defendant’s room, investigators discovered a report filed with the court detailing a forensic interview with a child allegedly molested by the child’s father. According to the affidavit, Nichols said he used his position in the courthouse to locate and remove the report.

The defendant is currently in custody at Sacramento County Main Jail. A bail review hearing was set for Tuesday.

Former Lover of Pedophile Rocker: He Wanted to Kill a Baby, Had Fantasies About Getting Her Pregnant and Raping the Child

  • Pedophile would have moved on to murder, claims former lover
  • Joanne Mjadzelics says he wanted to get her pregnant and abuse the child
  • ‘He wanted to rape and kill children’, said the 38-year-old former banker
  • Went to police when he sent her a photo of a three-year-old with cocaine
  • Another ex, 4’11” Krysta Boyle, said he told her: ‘I love your small body’
  • Former bandmates today said they were ‘heartbroken, angry, disgusted’
Vile: Joanne Mjadzelics claims Watkins spoke of sick fantasies about killing a baby

Vile: Joanne Mjadzelics claims Watkins spoke of sick fantasies about killing a baby

By SAM WEBB

The ex-girlfriend of Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins claims the pedophile rock musician had fantasies about kidnapping and murdering a baby.

Joanne Mjadzelics, 38, claims Watkins’ sick behavior would have eventually degenerated into even more extreme crimes if he had not been caught.

Watkins was described as a ‘determined and committed pedophile’ after he admitted attempting to rape a fan’s 11-month-old baby son along with 10 other child sex offences on Tuesday.

Miss Mjadzelics had a two year on-off relationship with the rock star from 2006 and as time went on, Watkins revealed his sordid fantasies.

In August 2008, after receiving emails from the singer describing sex with an 11-year-old girl and suggestive photographs of a three-year-old, she went to police.

She told the Sunday People: ‘I’m absolutely sure Ian wouldn’t have stopped at abuse.

‘He wanted to rape and kill children. He wanted to rape newborns.

‘He even wanted to get me pregnant so he could rape our baby.’

The singer, a former boyfriend of BBC presenter Fearne Cotton and model Alexa Chung, also admitted to her he used his Lostprophets fame to turn young girls into ‘Superfans’ willing to allow him to abuse their children.

Miss Mjadzelics also says she warned police about the singer’s depraved nature four years ago after he told her he wanted to have sex with a child, but says they refused to investigate it.

She was persuaded to give up as Watkins was alerted about her claims and she was threatened with harassment charges.

But a year later he was bombarding her with more sick fantasies, revealed he was now addicted to heroin and had raped a five-year-old girl.

At that point, she started to gather a file of evidence that eventually led to Watkins’ conviction.

Miss Mjadzelics claimed besotted female fans of the pedophile are hiding the true extent of his offending because they secretly offered their children for abuse.

Her claims come as another of Watkins’ former lovers, Lostprophets fan Krysta Boyle, reveals he gushed over her tiny frame.

Ms Boyle, from Orange County in California, was 19 years old, 4’11”, and wore child-size clothing when she met the singer in Hawaii.

She told The Sun on Sunday: ‘Looking back, it was obvious something was wrong with him from the moment we met. But I was a young impressionable fan.

‘I remember him commenting a lot on my body and small frame.’

She added that he tried to film their sexual encounters and once choked her during sex.

Today his ex-bandmates insisted they did not know about the abuse.

Speaking for the first time since Watkins’ last-minute change of plea on Tuesday ahead of what would have been his trial at Cardiff Crown Court, they released a statement to fans revealing they were ‘heartbroken, angry and disgusted’.

They said: ‘Many of you understandably want to know if we knew what Ian was doing. To be clear: We did not.

‘We knew that Ian was a difficult character. Our personal relationships with him had deteriorated in recent years to a point that working together was a constant, miserable challenge.

‘But despite his battles with drugs, his egotistic behavior and the resulting fractures and frustrations within our band, we never imagined him capable of behavior of the type he has now admitted.’

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating claims that South Wales Police failed to act quickly enough having allegedly been told Watkins was planning to abuse children as early as 2008.

They have now launched a second investigation over the handling of a complaint made against Watkins to South Yorkshire Police in 2012.

Watkins was arrested late last year after South Wales Police raided his home on a drugs tip and stumbled upon hard drives containing images, videos and conversations about him attacking children.

From early 2010 horrified fans who had become friends with Watkins went online to beg for help after discovering vile images on his computer.

In one post, written before his arrest, a fan wrote: ‘His on-off girlfriend reported him to police twice for being a pedophile.

‘He sent pornographic pictures of a little girl to a few girls telling them it was a five-year-old girl he’d raped. He also watches child porn constantly. Sick sick man.’

Watkins allegedly boasted to obsessed female fans that he had HIV and was on a mission to pass it on to children.

The comments will only add to the growing fear that Watkins’s guilty pleas offer only a glimpse of the true extent of his drug-fuelled debauchery.

The 36-year-old, from Pontypridd, South Wales, plotted the shocking abuse with the two mothers of the babies in a series of text and internet messages.

The baby’s mother, Woman A, admits aiding and abetting the attempted rapes on her son.

She also admits sexually touching the child and taking photographs, before sending them to Watkins.

Watkins also admitted conspiring to rape and sexually touch the daughter of the second fan.

He admits aiding and abetting Woman B to touch her daughter while he watched on Skype.

An earlier court hearing was told police had 72 pages of conversations between the pair online talking about their sexual relationship.

Woman B mentioned she had a daughter of a young age and Watkins said: ‘Bring her along as well.’

She said she was getting the child ready for their meeting together – and ‘what they all will do together’ when they meet up.

She admits sexual assault after touching the child, she also admits taking an indecent photograph of the child before distributing them.

Anyone who has been affected by the Watkins case, or other cases of child abuse, is urged to contact South Wales Police on 029 20634184 or the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.

Pedophile Allowed to Adopt Child in Sweden

Pedophile who sexually abused five-year-old girl is given permission to adopt a child in Sweden

  • The man in his sixties wants to adopt his 10-year-old stepson
  • A social affairs committee deemed him at low risk of re-offending
  • He has committed more than 90 crimes, mostly fraud-related charges
  • Social services have filed a complaint about the investigation into his worthiness to adopt

A Swedish man convicted for molesting a five-year-old girl in his neighborhood has been given the green light to adopt a child of his own, as Swedish authorities said they did not fear he would relapse into criminal behavior.

The man, who is in his 60s, has been found guilty of more than 90 crimes, mostly different types of fraud. The regional Helsingborgs Dagblad (HD) newspaper reported on Friday that the man was also convicted of molesting his neighbor’s then five-year-old daughter in 2004, and was also suspected of raping a young teenage girl.

The man will now be able to adopt, after a review by the municipality’s social affairs committee (socialnämnd) found that his risk of relapse was considered low, with all but one of ten members of the committee voting yes to the man’s application to adopt. HD noted, however, that the public servants and the politically appointed board members were not given access to the documents giving details about his alleged sex crime.

Furthermore, the newspaper noted, the claim that the older man, who is known to chat with young girls on the internet, did not risk a criminal relapse was not in any way explained in the tribunal’s statement. There were no supporting documents to back up the assessment.

While he was never charged for the suspected rape of a 14-year-old girl, social services decided after the incident that he from then on needed supervision when spending time with his own children. A few years later, in 2007, the man was deemed to be in the risk zone for sex crime relapse, and his “probable victims” were underage girls. The review recommended that the man be given treatment and parenting training.

The man now wants to formally adopt his ten-year-old stepson, whose mother he married in 2009. The mother recently passed away from illness but was alive when her husband applied to adopt her son and was interviewed by social services to give her consent.

The adoption application has the support of the boy’s biological father. There are allegedly no relatives in the boy’s country of birth that could care for him if he had to return. The boy is also known to have a disability.

Following reports about the case in the Swedish media, the head of social services in Helsingborg has decided to file a complaint about the investigation into whether the man is fit to adopt.

“I should have stopped it,” social services head Dinah Åbinger told the TT news agency.

“I can only say that it was a weak investigation. There are questions that aren’t described in depth and the investigation should have been resubmitted to family court even before it reached the committee. Because of that I’m reporting us to the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (Inspektionen för vård och omsorg, IVO).”
